ESNBU adopted CASRAI's CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), a high-level taxonomy including 14 roles that can be used to represent the roles typically played by contributors to scientific scholarly output. The roles describe each contributor's specific contribution to the scholarly output. Articles start featuring the Contributors' Roles in multiple-author submissions.

The Polish Ministry of Education, PBN (the System of Polish Scientific Bibliography) included ESNBU in their list of approved journals, and awards 20 points to authors from Poland if they publish with ESNBU.
The Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers, operated jointly between The National Board of Scholarly Publishing (NPU) and Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills on behalf of The Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, included ESNBU in their list of approved journals and places ESNBU at Level 1.

New Bulgarian University launches the NBU Academic Journals Portal - ESNBU is actively participating as consultants for the OJS PKP platform, advising other editorial boards on OA policies, develops a DOI allocation template, and is an avid promoter of OA and editorial integrity.
